I am not aware of any recent monetary stimulus by the RBA.
Monetary stimulus has one objective: to stimulate more spending from businesses and consumers. More spending might spur economic growth which will result in higher employment, lower unemployment, etc. The negative side to stimulus is that it will cause inflation as the currency devalues, due to the increase in money supply.
In my opinion, the AUD continues enjoying strong demand because the Australian interest rate is the highest among all developed countries. The latest economic numbers from China suggest that the Chinese economy might have bottomed out. This will lend support to the AUD since China is Australia’s largest trading partner.
