I would like to ask:
1. How do we analyse Forex news by using Bloomberg?
2. Do we only need to look at currency news or should we read the economic news headlines as well?
3. Or is focusing on Calendar news sufficient?
Hi, Yh. I look at Bloomberg as my main source of information to determine current market sentiment, especially the section on currency news: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/currencies/.
You may refer to my reply in the post “Question from Eden: How do we know the risk sentiment that’s leading the market?” dated 13 Jan 2012 for more details on what news to look out for and how to decipher it.
I look at Calendar news for trading opportunities. For example, when is the European Central Bank (ECB) announcing their Interest Rate, when is the US Non-Farm Employment Change, when is Australia releasing their Trade Balance, etc. Knowing when and what news ia happening allows me to be aware of possible market volatility and trading opportunities.
For more information on how I trade the news, please refer to my reply in the post “Question from Net Profit: When should I take a directional or non-directional bias when it comes to trading news?” dated 25 Nov 2011.
